Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American musician and popular actress. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts and caused her to feel uncomfortable. It was during her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. This not only increased her confidence but her ambitions changed. When she was 22, she received her degree from in the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her biggest break came with her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the first Broadway production of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC her role was given greater fame. As a well-known singer, she has also released a single as well as an extended version of her play. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate for LGBT equality.
